African Art
This morning has been very exciting as we had a visit from Jade who works for The education Group.
Jade came with some wooden African Dan masks. The masks were made from albezian wood which comes from the Miracle Tree.

Phonics
Today we had our first session of RWI (Read, Write Inc), the children had a great time learning their first sound and practised writing it outside and in their books. The children met Fred the Frog and helped him to blend the sounds together to make words.

Learning to spell ‘because’.
Today some of us have been doing the ‘because’ dance to help us learn how to spell it.
Don’t drop litter!
This week we have designed our own ‘Don’t drop litter’ posters, on Friday we went and displayed them in the forest area. We talked about how we can be good citizens and help look after the world around us.

Mystery reader
We have had our 1st Mystery Reader. We were all very surprised to find that it was our new Principal, Mrs Thornburn.
She read a wonderful book called We Love You Hugless Douglas by David Melling.
We all really enjoyed it and sat beautifully.

Creative Maths
Year 6 loved the Maths lesson today and they were so creative! They were looking at what a decimal number is and really understanding this concept so I set them the challenge of representing a decimal number in as many creative ways as they could.
