Happy World Book Day!

What a fabulous week.  We've read lots of books, designed a book token to enter the National Book Token competition, performed a poem, planned our own poems, and shared our favourite books.

4 Willow have been creating Kenning poems this week. The children created their own, individual poems based on a fairground (linked to Leon and the Place Between).

Today, we used our Kenning knowledge from the week and generated ideas for a whole class poem based on stories for World Book Day.

Today, we celebrated world book day and saw some amazing costumes! We took part in a whole school assembly where we performed a Julia Donaldson poem along with the rest of school. 

We have conclude our World Book Day celebrations by creating a class Kenning Poem/riddle all about books. 

We have had a great day dressing up for World Book Day. Can you guess which book we are from?

I opened a book and in I strode

We have been learning how to keep our teeth healthy. We have learnt what it is like to have a trip to the dentist and have been dentists, dental nurses and patients in imaginative play. We created mouths with sugar paper and marshmallows for teeth and counted our teeth. Surprisingly, a tooth fairy…

Year 1 Have loved having Mystery readers so far this week!

Next week, Year 4 are planning to go on a walk up to Werneth Low to explore the gradient. In today's lesson, we planned our route and plotted our stopping points where we will observe the increase in gradient. We used the contour lines to help us decide our stopping points.
