The Role of the Local Governing Body

The Local Governing Body comprises a group of individuals, who are elected, nominated or co-opted and are representative of parents, teachers and the community.

The Academy Governors work with the Principal and are jointly responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school and ensuring the Principal and her team of staff are held accountable for the effectiveness of their work. Meetings are held once each half term.

The term of office for Governors is 4 years and in usual circumstances, there are 9 members of the Governing Body.

If you would like to become a Governor or would like to talk to the Governing Body, please either contact the chair of the Governing Body via the contact form here or contact the Principal to ask about any vacancies and ask for a Governor’s Information Pack.
